My kids and I had baby back ribs which were so delicious that we ordered a second half of a rack. With the second course I had a quarter BBQ chicken which was cooked perfectly and was very juicy. My wife had a grilled BBQ chicken sandwich on a brioche bun which was very tender and full of flavor. I also had a side of mashed sweet potato which I couldn't get enough of. Being a new establishment they really need to improve on their service. The wait staff didn't seem very organized or experienced. The food did come out very quickly and it was hot. Seating is limited so plan on waiting a few minutes or do take out.

Ordered the BBQ pork platter and I was served chunks of fat. Terrible food quality. They also didn't have menus printed so my boyfriend and I had to share a takeout menu.

Found this place on Yelp. When we arrived there was no one in the place but by the time we left it was packed and people were waiting for tables. Food was great, we ordered the brisket and the pulled pork. We found the service was good and everyone was very nice. When we're back in town we'll definitely go back.

This was our first time here. Me and my 7 year old daughter LOVED the chopped pork sandwich!!! It was to die for!!! I would definitely recommend this place to families.

Yummy! Love the sauce, baby back ribs tender & flavorful. The beef ribs were a big hit at our table, shared with all. My favorite, sweet potato mash, great side complement to the BBQ. Chef Dewey stopping by everyone's table with a smile, making a ordinary week night an event! Our new favorite spot!

The food was good they were out of ribs three days in a row when I went there for dinner. The price is to high but it's Boca lol!

The plates, silverware, and placemats were filthy when we sat down. The place is tiny...probably better for take out. They have one person waiting tables with the owner walking around talking on his cell phone. There was a long wait (only about 3 tables for 4 people, 4 tables for 2) so needless to say, we were rushed. Not to mention that it took forever to get served. The food was average, the service was terrible. They need some serious organization...not worth it!

The place is so small but the meats are good, notice I say MEATS. Sides are not good at all. Side dishes are very small portions and not very tasty. Staff is very friendly but need more exp. I would go back

Place sucks. Saw the write up in the sunsentinel and I was told by a neighbor to go try it. I should of stopped right there as my neighbor has no concept of good food but I am always curious about a new bbq especially if it's close to the house. We ordered take out last night. I'm only giving it a star because there is no option for a half a star. Ordered the beef ribs, brisket, and salmon. Beef ribs were full of fat and had hardly any substantial areas of meat, the brisket was tough and felt like chewing on rubber, and the salmon was dry as a bone. All the side were crappy and we sampled a bunch of them. None of them were anything special. Would not waste my calories on this crab what so ever. If you want good bbq try shivers in homestead one day. Kinda far but that's real bbq. People are lining up for shivers during all different times of the day. Stay away from this place.

Got take out for the family. The food is incredible!!!!!! The sweet potato mashed is so good. The prices are very good and affordable. The collard greens are fantastic and everything is homemade.

Went with wife and other couple. Only been open about a week. Not much seating. We all had different flavored wings. Really great. I had ribs, wife and other couple had brisket. Way to much food but we ate it all. Really didn't have room for desert but I can't pass on pecan pie, the best I've had in years. When word gets out Dewey's "gonna need a bigger boat" on our next visit I think we will do take out. Already looking forward to it

After frequenting the local bbq, Dewey's has been the most consistent and best tasting. Nice environment, amazing buns and great food. Love this spot!

This is not BBQ to write home about. We sampled the St. Louis ribs, the brisket and pulled pork. Not one of these had a deep, smokey flavor that you expect with real Southern BBQ. The brisket had way too much fat and no flavor. After eating brisket at Aaron Franklin's and LA BBQ in Austin, TX, Dewey's doesn't compare. The ribs were very tender, but swimming in too much sauce and had no smoke flavor. The pulled pork was described by one diner in our party as "...just terrible." The baked beans were OK, but not distinguished. The cole slaw was fresh and tasty, but again, nothing to distinguish it from the rest of the pack. Service was friendly, but food seemed to take too long to come to the table. This was he fault of the kitchen, not our server. On top of everything else, this isn't an inexpensive place to eat. Be prepared to spend in the range of $15 and up p/p, even at lunch. For undistinguished food, that's a lot of money. IMHO, Tom Jenkins BBQ in Ft. Lauderdale is still the best BBQed foor I've had in southern FL, and Dewey's is no match for it. If you're looking for real Southern BBQ, look elsewhere.

Good but not great. Big on the bun, small on the meat. No real smoky flavor. Nice people.running it. Has potential.

Great food, fun atmosphere and awesome service. We arrived here as a family of three and we were instantly greeted and seated. I ordered the Tue Special, pulled brisket sandwich and slaw. My wife ordered the BBQ wings and my young daughter had the Mac and Cheese with corn on the cob. We all enjoyed our food and the BBQ sauce was tasty. Refills were plentiful and the manager and staff were genuinely interested in us having a great experience. A flat screen TV with an image of a fireplace and southern music playing in the background added to our experience. We will definitely return!

Looking for a real BBQ place close to home and unfortunately this is not it. We ordered for pickup after reading the other reviews. To sample the menu we tried: Full rack of baby back ribs 1/2 rack of St Louis Ribs Quarter Chicken (given a leg and thigh) Collard greens Macaroni and cheese Red beans and rice Healthy coleslaw Apple Cobbler We also order an 8 piece wings but when we got there we were told they were out of them Sadly, it is not true BBQ. No smoke, no smoke ring, which is what we look for in BBQ. I make good home cooked ribs and these were about even to my own, although my dry rub had more flavor. Sadly they did not include any additional BBQ sauce with any of the items or ask if we wanted any. The chicken was moist but had no personality at all. The sides were nothing special and everyone actually enjoyed the canned applewood smoked Pork and Beans I opened and heated up to serve with the meal more than any of the sides purchased. The apple cobbler was nothing more than warm cinnamon apples with a small cup of granola to pour on top. That isn't apple cobbler :( Maybe I just ordered "wrong" but for $60 I think it's a good sampling of the menu. They were very nice, everything was packed well, and was still warm when we got home. When we got there the food was all ready to go. The ordering and pickup was great. I just don't think we will be ordering from here again and my search for real BBQ will continue.

Delicious BBQ with a healthy twist! I ordered the lean brisket, pulled BBQ chicken, baked beans and healthy slaw. All of it was extremely good, reminded me of living in the true South again! The brisket was tasty and tender while the chicken was moist and plentiful. The real kicker were the BBQ sauces, I had Spicy, Blueberry, and Raspberry. The spicy was thick and spicy and the Blueberry was amazing with the brisket. The Raspberry was a little too sweet for me though. Excellent place that I highly recommend!

Promising But Needs Work Went in with high hopes for a good BBQ place in Boca Raton. Even though the meat in my massive pulled pork sandwich was moist and delicious, it was held back by a few things. First, the restaurant is new so it seems to be breaking it self in which is perfectly fine. Second, the original BBQ sauce that comes with most meals is too heavy. It feels like it's poured out of a bottle, not home made. The mustard BBQ sauce isn't even BBQ sauce its just mustard. A traditional Carolina mustard based sauce is normally what you get when you ask for mustard based BBQ sauce, Not Dijon. Third and final, if you offer sweet tea please brew your own. It goes a long way with us southerners. I had a pleasant meal overall but it definitely needs improvement. I hope that Sweet Dewey's improves and has a long and successful career here in Boca.

It was ok but not BBQ, It had no smoke flavor in the meats, the beans were ehh and the sweet potato fries were ok. Only saving grace was the raspberry BBQ sauce was good. Quick and fair price but not worth going out of your way for it.

Ran out of dark meat chicken? Unreal. Ribs were ok but nothing special. But that sums up most of the BBQ in Boca area. Nobody in Florida seems to know how to make front ribs aka St. Louis. They think they should be from the largest pig u can find. They need to learn about a 2 down special cut of rib.

My family had several BBQ dinners tonight and everything was great. We had the combo platters and the portions were generous for the price and we were very pleased with the speed of delivery and the entire experience. We will definitely be regular customers!

I would rate dewey's a solid 2 at best. My first attempt in going to Dewey's was during opening week. When I walked in, they were super crowded (fairly small space) and under staffed. After standing there for a few minutes with no service or interaction with the staff, I left. My 2nd attempt was a take out order. Upon pick up, it was still an awkward experience. I waited and waited even though there were multiple employees working. I was told only one of those people could process my order. Finally, I got my order and found the BBQ is average at best. I doubt I will be back based on the service though.

I am a huge BBQ fan and have been to the major festivals in Lexington, NC, Memphis, TN, Kansas City, etc... This BBQ is ok, better than most of the stuff you get in South Florida. However, there was no smoke flavor or a "smoke ring" in the meat. I ordered 1/2 rack of St Louis spare ribs, chopped pork and collard greens, sweet potato casserole, and Mac and cheese. Ribs - ok but covered in sauce. I prefer a nice dry rub, smoke ring and if need be, a little sauce on the side. Pork, again prefer a dry run and some "mr brown" (outside of the pork butt bark). Again covered in sauce. Greens - Good, a little sweet, but not the best I've ever had Mac and cheese - tasted like crap you get at a cafeteria. Why not add some bread crumbs and cheese to the top? It would help :( Sweet potato (mash) casserole. Good, but what's not good with butter and brown sugar. Pecan pie. - not many pecans, super sweet. I'll stick with making my own. :( Iced tea - a staple with BBQ, came in a bottle. :(

Ribs really did taste like I made them in my own oven, not my grill or my smoker, but my electric oven. It was my first time ordering there, I might go back and try the bbq brisket, but I sincerely doubt it.

My sweet dreams about this new Sweet Dewey's becoming a stop off point for good, local, drive-by BBQ went up in smoke today. After grabbing a take out order of baby backs, wings, chopped pork, pulled chicken and sweet potato fries, only the fries achieved a passing grade of C+. The wings had rubbery skin and were under-cooked, the ribs were tough, the pulled chicken was drenched in sauce and the pork lacked any real flavor. There's only about three or four tables in the small cramped quarters and the layout to order, wait and pay is overly crowded and awkward. Not a sweet experience!

Went here last night with my parents. We got here about 5:00 and got a table inside. Service was great, LOVE the food, and Chef Dewey came out to everyone to say hello! I got the BBQ veggie burger with baked beans which was superb! Dad got baby back ribs & mom got the chicken! We left happy and full! Dad said he would rather go to Sweet Deweys than Smokey Bones! We will be back!

It's okay...didn't blow my socks off...I had chicken...it was very good...but salad was a little limp...not enough dressing...corn bread was dry....restaurant is too small so take out is best...but it's nothing super special...

We finally tried their food. We did take out because the last two attempts we couldn't get in, plus we read from others to just take out. We ordered early (4:00 PM). we got a full rack of baby back ribs, collard greens, healthy slaw, bake beans and fries. We wanted the mac and cheese but they said they didn't have any. The portion of the full rack of ribs appeared small. I don't know how they cook them, but they didn't taste grilled or smoked. They poured their BBQ sauce on most of the ribs, but they were kind of dry, bland and not a lot of meat on the bones. The BBQ sauce was overly sweet for us. The beans were just fair, but way to sweet again for our liking. The fries were the institutional grade frozen type. They were cold and soggy. The slaw was good and collards were not bad, but again overly sweet.. All in all, it wasn't too good, especially for the price point. I wish them the best of luck, but we were not too happy with the food.

I highly recommend anyone who hasn't been to Sweet Dewey's....GO! And if you went prior to May, GO BACK! Dewey's now has a Pitmaster and they do real smoked BBQ...AMAZING flavors! The pork is some of the best I've had (speaking as a Southern girl married to a BBQ master). The sides are delicious, and the sauces superb! The meat stands on its own, but I love to experiment with the sauce! Love this place and love the staff! You can clearly see the great effort they've put into turning out superb BBQ!

I'll start with a summary: The Pork Ribs, both regular and St. Louis, were described by all three who ordered them as EXCELLENT. The Beef Ribs, which is what got me to this establishment, should be an embarrassment to the restaurant for having served them. The side of broccoli and the cole slaw were rated very good by all who had them. The corn bread seemed more like a muffin and pedestrian at that. More details: We arrived at 6 PM and were seated immediately. By the time we left it was packed with a small waiting list. Our waitress was very helpful but inexperienced. Her ordering assistance unfortunately created more confusion than necessary. Also there was an advertisement on the table re their app and coupons. We were advised that each couple could avail ourselves of the reduced charge for a second entree. Our soft drinks, in a can, came out first. The glassware with ice that followed up were handed to us with the server grabbing them with her fingers on both sides of the top rim. Next came the 3 racks. It was at least another 5 minutes before the beef ribs were served. These were large boned, but very sparse of meat and taste. The bill was presented without the appropriate offered discounts. When this was pointed out to the waitress she passed the correction along to management. We were advised only one coupon per table. The parking lot in front is crowded and small but plenty on the sides, less than a minute walk to the front door

Wonderful meal! I had the baby back ribs and my friend had the half chicken.Everything came out promptly. The environment was friendly and the server was very nice. My ribs fell right off the bone and were so so tender. The side of baked beans was some of the best I have EVER had.The restaurant was slammed so we had to wait about 15-20 minutes, but it was well worth the wait. I highly recommend.

I see many mixed reviews here. I'm giving it four stars, but if I could I would probably put down a solid 3 and a half - great, but still room for improvement. For those that are leaving these horrible, scathing reviews: I see why you feel dissatisfied, but you have to take a few things into consideration. This is a small restaurant, much like a hole in a wall. This is also a NEW restaurant! They are working with a straight beeline layout (it used to be a Subway). I give them a lot credit for working with this type of set up because it is not much space. As another commenter stated - I recommend ordering take out. The staff is visibly stressed, obviously because they are handling a lot of business. It was very busy and I was surprised how many people came in to pick up, and how many people were having a sit-down meal. I believe they are quite literally learning as they go. Is that ideal? No. They're learning the hard way how to run a restaurant, but they are learning. I say give it another few months, and they will have it running like clockwork. The food: I ordered half rack of baby back ribs, pulled pork and pulled chicken, corn, coleslaw, Mac and cheese, and beans. The chicken and pork were very tender, slow cooked. The chicken was definitely some of the best. The pork was good too. I didn't find them overly sauced, either, as some previous posters commented. It was just the right amount. The ribs were good, but not the best I've had. The macaroni and cheese was just average. What really surprised me were the baked beans. They had to be a passed down, family recipe. I've never had baked beans with such flavor. It was fresh garlic, with pork and a little bit of fat. Pleasantly surprising, I actually enjoyed them. To the owner, I would recommend: having two teams, one team for take out orders, and another for sit-dish guests. Trying to juggle them both causes too much confusion. Another thing, maybe consider adding some tasteful music, and dimmed red lights. It's a small addition, but it might help the atmosphere. Overall: a low four rating. With a little time and organization, this place will be great. Keep at it!

Decent but not great BBQ. Came here for for lunch. Friendly service and a nice welcome coming in. Good use of the space with some outdoor seating (uncovered) as well. The menu is what you expect from a BBQ restaurant with choices of ribs, brisket, chicken etc. with various classic sides of mac n cheese, okra, collard greens etc. Prices are a buck or two more than they should be. I ordered the half chicken, which was ok. A little light on flavor, it just didn't have that smoked taste that normally comes with BBQ'd chicken. Side of rice and beans was better than the collard greens that did not have any flavor at all. Also no pepper vinegar was available to spice up the collards. I was really expecting more from this place. Hope they improve the food a bit, and at this time I can't recommend. However, I will come back for another try.

Well, here's the deal with Sweet Deweys BBQ, I loved loved loved the food! Unfortunately, The food might be sweet, but the service is sour. So poor in fact that the really great food won't be enough to get me to go back. I won't bore you with the details, we have all been mistreated by unsupervised kids left to represent a new business, and this was just another example. I was on the fence about how many stars to give here, and based soley on the food I would have rated it four stars. However, if you want me to spend my hard earned money at your restaraunt, make sure I am not treated like a red headed step child when I'm there. (hint to owner) What a shame, this place has potential, but the front of the house could make getting this new bbq spot on its feet an uphill battle. I hope they fix the poor customer service, but I won't be back to find out. Sorry Dewey...

Sweet Dewey's is not so sweet. My husband I ate at the restaurant when they first opened up and it was utter chaos. Besides the fact that they don't have the space for customers to sit inside, the service was terrible. We waited 20 minutes before asking the harried waitress where our food was as other tables were getting served. I believe that they somehow lost our order, as we received it as soon as we asked. At that time, the food was acceptable although the corn on the cob was totally soggy with water because I'm sure it was cooking for hours. We decided that we would order take out if we were to try them again. Well, the take out food was a disaster. When I ordered on the telephone, they told me that the menu I was ordering from was an old one (mind you they are only open a few months). The price of the beef ribs on the NEW menu went up about $10 for 6 ribs, I believe to $21.95 FOR 6 RIBS!! So I ordered a half rack of the St. Louis Ribs and was going to order ribs from the Kids Menu and they told me they don't have the kids menu anymore. When I got the order home, I should have gotten back in my car and returned the dinner to them. The ribs were dried out and some of the ribs had very little meat on them. The collard greens tasted as if they came out of a can and the rice was overcooked. Wouldn't recommend this overpriced and underwhelmed restaurant to any friend of mine. Gave them one star because zero was not an option.

My St. Louis ribs were burned. What was not burned was rock hard. The brisket was crumbled into little pieces and tasteless. Did takeout so avoided the poor service. No presence of Dewey. This place has serious quality control issues.

Went Fri afternoon for brisket sandwich for lunch it tasted so so good I ordered meal deal for football game sat asked to pick up at 3pm it was being boxed up when I walked in perfect time got to brother in law house food still hot & everyone loved it should have got more menus extra BBQ toppings with very unique flavors all I can say great service great food reasonable price. The only thing negative is there is not a lot of seating

Ordered on line for pick up at 5:30 but when arrived at 5:30 they said they had not made the order becuase they don't trust on line orders...so why have them. They also got the order wrong. Called to tell them that. Answer : sorry. Half a rack of baby backs amounted to five tiny, totally dried out tough ribs...not sure I have ever had worse. Asked a number of times if we wanted to add a tip to the carry out order..which is absurd ..especially given our experience...maybe eating in is better, but we aren't going to find out. Stay away.

Went to Sweet D's with my wife and 2 kids. The waitress was very nice but the service was slow. When the food came out it was disappointing in its portion size and doused in sauce. I had brisket and pulled pork, wife had pulled pork. My son had to order an adult meal since the kids menu is limited to chick fingers and Mac and cheese. We spent over $45 for lunch and would never repeat again.

2.5 I think the majority of Yelpers are making the right call with their ratings. I noticed a lot of the reviews off line, like those done by bloggers seemed to be more favorable because they were special guests and had their meals comped for the press, so take those with a grain of salt. The reality is West Boca and BBQ just don't mix and it's a painful truth I am still battling with. Remember when Dickey's opened up a few years ago and then a few months later it was ghost town? Its weird but it seems like the best BBQ joints are always on Federal highway. Tom's Ribs, Tom Jenkins, Miss Sweets, Blue Willys and Texas Hold 'Em to name a few. Ponder that for a minute. I, like most of you wanted to love Sweet Deweys. It's a feel good story of a black chef who has worked decades serving lily white people at country clubs or fancy restaurants. Finally, he breaks free from "the man" and opens his own place. You can see a Tyler Perry/Oprah film in the making. Well, the reality is, as much as Deweys name is on the menu or on the billboards or plastered all over their marketing materials he is as involved in this place as Pete Rose was with the food at his restaurant. I've been to Deweys twice now, and I have yet to see him there. I got a better shot at finding Waldo. You know I did see there? A guy who they must have borrowed from Bamboo Wok, plus a bunch of 18-25 year olds running the small restaurant. It's small folks, don't think about eating here because the people doing take-out will be hoovering over your while you eat. It's basically no bigger than your average Chinese food take-out. I've had the chicken and the beef brisket. Both were ok, but not all that memorable. Their sauces are real good though. By default, it's the only BBQ in West Boca so it will do "decent" for now, but if I'm ever craving real BBQ I'll probably have to head south to Broward where all of the best spots in South Florida reside. Deweys is cute, but its backed by the same rich lily white country club folks Deweys used to serve. Maybe they license his name and paid him a nice little fee for him to put together some cute staples on the menu but nothing here feels authentic and it sure as hell doesn't taste it. The prices are Boca inflated too so where as your basic sandwich or platter elsewhere will easily be $1-3 less. The portions here are average, but I recently did take out and they had the nerve to put about 9 french fries in the box. Overall, this place is not what I had anticipated. I wanted something like Freddy's BBQ Joint as seen in House of Cards, but instead we got a joint not even Francis Underwood would eat at regardless the time of day. I think I realized what is missing from Sweet Deweys...it's SOUL!

I hope one of the B's stands for BRAISED, because this is NOT barbecue. It kills me to write bad reviews, especially for a small start-up, but when it's comes to BBQ, of which I'm a bit of a connoisseur, I can't let it go. I've been cooking competitive BBQ for years, and while you haven't seen me on TV (yet), the food here simply can't compete with even the McRib. The decor is great. Small, yes, but so what? Yes, ordering for takeout was a bit cramped, but again, no big deal for good food. Retail space is expensive and they've done well with what they have. Unfortunately, I don't think they found a place for a SMOKER (more on that later). I ordered beef brisket and pulled pork to go with fries and coleslaw. The large, thick, crinkle cut fries could have been great but they were quite a bit undercooked but the coarse salt is a nice touch. The coleslaw is good, but pretty much the same as every other off-the-shelf out-of-the-tub slaw you can buy everywhere. Nothing to stand out about either side dish. Now, the real issue - the meat and the sauce. Neither the brisket nor the pork had any semblance of smoke flavor nor any indication either was smoked at all (no pink smoke ring to be found). I'm pretty certain this meat was baked. Strike 1. The brisket was tender...maybe even a bit overdone but that's what happens when you BRAISE THE MEAT RIGHT BEFORE SERVING IT. No, seriously. I watched them reheat the beef (and the pork) in hot water for a bit right before boxing it up. The "chef" actually scooped it out of the pot of water in a strainer basket and mashed it with his hand to squeeze the water out. What should be served as smokey, beefy awesomeness with a nice, dark, crunchy bark was bland, overdone, barkless, and WET (there was actually water pooling in my to-go box). The fact that it was swimming in tomato sauce was supposed to help I guess (more on the sauce later too). The pork. See all that stuff I wrote above about the brisket? Just replace brisket with pork and reread it. the only difference was that the pork wasn't overdone. It was undercooked (or cooked to fast) as it was tough. My guess, it was baked (maybe wrapped in foil) for about 5 hours at 325-350 degrees. Pretty much the exact opposite of what you want Southern BBQ pork to be. The sauce was a red, soupy mixture of basic tomato sauce and a cheap bottled BBQ sauce or at least that's how it tasted. There are generally 3 flavor profiles when it comes to BBQ sauce: sweet and sticky St Louis, north carolina tangy vinegar, and south carolina mustard. This wasn't close to any of them. There was no sweet to it. There was no mustard. There was no bite. The worst part was that it was ladled onto the meat heavily before boxing it up. Combine that with the pooling braise-water and bland meat and, well, I think I've made my point. Sorry, Dewey, but you should have stuck with cooking for the Boca elite at the Polo Club and St. Andrews because in WEST Boca, where we will be pulling up in Toyatas and Fords not Maseratis and Bentleys, our money means a great deal more to us and we'll be too selective on where we spend it for Sweet Dewey's to survive. Did I mention I liked the decor?

A friend raved about the brisket and veal brisket. My wife and I sampled those two items. I was surprised that neither items tasted smoked. However, they were good. A cornbread side was crumbly, baked beans were OK as were the fries. We did not order ribs. If I were in the area, I would visit again. I would not go out of my way to eat there.

My rating would be generous according to my foodie friend. I'm not sure where the great reviews are coming from, but this place is honestly not that special. The one saving grace was the sauce. Dewey makes some excellent, delicious, sweet yet slightly tangy BBQ sauce. I wanted to love this place. I really did. Sadly, it was just "good" at best. The sides (mac cheese, baked beans, mashed sweet potatoes) were bland, the ribs were good but not wow, and the service - well it downright sucked. We were seated quickly on a busy weekday evening night. However, the "waitress" didn't come over to clean our table which was left filthy from the previous patrons until we requested it. And what an experience that was. The cleaning solution she used had such a strong and unpleasant odor...not really what you want to mix with the smell of BBQ...or any food, for that matter. Then, we were left sitting for a good 10-15 minutes WITHOUT menu. When she came to take the order, we said we hadn't even been given menus. "Oh, my bad...here you go...sorry, I'm not even supposed to be your waitress". What does that even mean?! At the end of the meal, we weren't even asked if we would like dessert. The bill is just dropped off at the table. And what a surprise...the prices are way higher than the printed menus we were given. A rack of ribs for $25. When inquiring about this and why the menu stated "$21", now a different waitress replies, "Oh, well we try to let you know before ordering that the menu prices have changed...we're getting new menus soon but they're not here yet...we got a better quality meat so we increased the prices." GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!! First of all, it's illegal to charge more on the bill than the menu price. At the very least inform us, put up a sign, change the price in the menu temporarily with a pen/label...something, anything! We were not informed. $4 increase per person on a rack of ribs is $8 on the bill. That's a lot for a hole in the wall joint that's not even that spectacular. Second of all, $25 for a rack of ribs is absurd. This isn't a fancy place. Look at what a rack costs elsewhere...Flannigan's, Shane's, J. Bird's Muddy Waters, Red's, Lucille's, Shorty's, Park Ave., Smoke, even the stellar spots: Mississippi Sweets, Tom Jenkins, Red Cow, Georgia Pig, etc. This guy is charging what Houston's or J. Alexander's charges and those are fancy, excellent places. The aforementioned places charge about $18-21 bucks for a rack of ribs. This guy is out of his mind for charging $25. And the few coupon offers out there are weak. I'm not going back. I am happy to see a success story in Dewey though. He seems like a genuinely nice guy...I just hope he can get some better service going, and charge more reasonable prices.

I came into deweys with high expectations and those expectations were definitely met. The place was busy and we waited maybe 10 minutes longer than we should have but it was well worth the wait. My wife heard from a girlfriend the beef ribs were amazing. She ate every morsel of meat and loved it so much. I had the mix and match platter with an extra half order of baby back ribs everything was amazing. My sides were collard greens and red beans and rice it was all flavorful and cooked just right. Are server was busy but was there to check on us and make sure we were comfortable which she did periodically. For dessert we tried the pecAn pie it was definitely in the top 3 pecan pies i have every had. U recommend it highly for a dessert. Serious potential. All other bbq joints watch out!

Good BBQ joint that has some minor rough edges. On the first go round my family had the pulled pork, veal brisket, collards, and beans. All the food was great! Service, however was problematic. Server seemingly couldn't understand basic questions like "may I have a menu?", "May I have a coke?", "Are you a mammal...?". The owner soon took over from the visibly confused server when it was realized she was in the weeds with two tables (out of maybe 5 total in the place) and got the ordering back under control. Second time around was take out and they slammed it! Staff had everything hot, ready, and to order on time! No nonsense! Both times the food was darn good. This is really closer to soul food than BBQ as there isn't an overbearing smoky quality to the food and in the case of the ribs and brisket, the meat is fatty, good for me, bad for the Alter Cocka's in West Boca who think they shouldn't cook with so much fat, it gives Maury heartburn and gas..I should tell you! Nevertheless, its that fat that gives it the flavor! Nice to have a good place like this in the West Boca Blandsville CDP where thankfully the guy the owns the Sybarite Pig continues to be a bastion of non Friday's food and Sweet Dewey's could rise up to be a great contender, but Fellas, please make sure the service is fixed for good!

I walk in, greeted immediately, "sit where you like" they say, so my friend and I do, we decide what we'd like to order, and begin conversing, we realize 15 minutes has gone by and nobody has come over out of the 4 people standing by the register talking, I could have called someone over of course, but I am just not into begging for someone to "allow" me to spend my money in their place. Never again! Btw there was only one other party of two, and this was 6pm on a Saturday! Just disappointing.

Do you like over and unevenly cooked ribs in supermarket quality sauce and lackluster sides? If so, this is your spot. It's a shame that the food here is so disappointing...Boca needed some good barbecue and it still does. The ribs were burnt in spots, dry on the outside, steamy and mushy on the inside with little flavor to the meat. I wonder if they were boiled before they were grilled. The rice and beans were tasteless, the first piece of cornbread was stale and the second while a bit fresher was just sweet..no flavor...clearly from a mix.Add in the unimpressive and uncomfortable surroundings and amateurish waitstaff ( with the exception of the one grown-up dark haired waitress...she knew her stuff!) and it's enough to make me keep looking. I noted that the chef was going from table to table greeting patrons. He never came to our table. Earlier, when a waiter asked how everything was, I had given him the horizontal hand wag meaning so-so. I guess he told the chef who probably only wanted to hear the good stuff. Sorry, Chef but I'm still looking for some good ribs!

After several more take out orders, I have downgraded Deweys to 4 stars. Still worth a visit and many tasty BBQ dishes but they seem to have drifted off a beat from our past experiences. Seems like they altered some of the flavoring in a few items or they have become inconsistent.

Winner wings and excellent BBQ. Dewey was on premises and his sauces are top notch. The blueberry BBQ sauce was a standout and would make this our regular BBQ stop.

Great atmosphere and flavorful BBQ just how I like it. I also appreciated how they were able to tell me which food had milk in it, which thankfully included none of the delicious ribs, unlike other BBQ restaurants. Also, I wasn't looking for dry smokey meat like another reviewer, though I'd guess additions to the menu are possible considering the place just opened up.

Love the food! The Brisket is delicious! And we also had the salmon which I also loved. Highly recommended.

(4)Priscilla B.
This was our first time here. Me and my 7 year old daughter LOVED the chopped pork sandwich!!! It was to die for!!! I would definitely recommend this place to families.
(5)Susan R.
(5)Anthony S.
The food was good they were out of ribs three days in a row when I went there for dinner. The price is to high but it's Boca lol!
(5)Sheryl S.
(1)Yesenia L.
The place is so small but the meats are good, notice I say MEATS. Sides are not good at all. Side dishes are very small portions and not very tasty. Staff is very friendly but need more exp. I would go back
(3)Jordan L.
(1)Brian C.
Got take out for the family. The food is incredible!!!!!! The sweet potato mashed is so good. The prices are very good and affordable. The collard greens are fantastic and everything is homemade.
(5)Joel K.
Already looking forward to it
(5)Danny R.
After frequenting the local bbq, Dewey's has been the most consistent and best tasting. Nice environment, amazing buns and great food. Love this spot!
(5)Ron L.
(2)Joe M.
Good but not great. Big on the bun, small on the meat. No real smoky flavor. Nice people.running it. Has potential.
(3)Thomas E.

(2)Michael M.

(2)Thomas D.
It was ok but not BBQ, It had no smoke flavor in the meats, the beans were ehh and the sweet potato fries were ok. Only saving grace was the raspberry BBQ sauce was good. Quick and fair price but not worth going out of your way for it.
(2)Steven W.
(2)Brad B.
My family had several BBQ dinners tonight and everything was great. We had the combo platters and the portions were generous for the price and we were very pleased with the speed of delivery and the entire experience. We will definitely be regular customers!
(4)Lisa L.

(2)Maximus P.
Ribs really did taste like I made them in my own oven, not my grill or my smoker, but my electric oven. It was my first time ordering there, I might go back and try the bbq brisket, but I sincerely doubt it.
(2)Eric T.
(2)Kathe M.
(5)K V.
It's okay...didn't blow my socks off...I had chicken...it was very good...but salad was a little limp...not enough dressing...corn bread was dry....restaurant is too small so take out is best...but it's nothing super special...
(3)Gary C.
(2)Suzi S.

(2)Karli S.

Keep at it!

By far best tasting barbecue in Boca Raton Fl !! Dewey took care of my familyand friends. A must go for some flavoring drooling fingerlicking BBQ !!
(5)Tim F.

(2)Rosanne G.
(1)Frank W.
My St. Louis ribs were burned. What was not burned was rock hard. The brisket was crumbled into little pieces and tasteless. Did takeout so avoided the poor service. No presence of Dewey. This place has serious quality control issues.
(1)Neal K.
(5)Wendy J.
Stay away.
(1)Seth H.
